Follow The Method promotes and style of running that can be learned and that can be brought to the attention of runners of all levels from novice to Olympian. It is not so much trying to reinvent the wheel as it is a very unique and simplistic way to get you to think about how you move your body across the planet in as simple, efficient and economic way as possible. Most of all the teachings encourage you to think internally about your unique body,how you carry it,your posture and positioning and subsequently the manner in which you consider the sequence of self movement. Which muscles are contracting, in what order, in order for you to propel yourself into flight, using the correct muscles for propulsion and for the landing or support phase. Culminating in an efficient foot strike which then serves to start the efficient sequence of proper flight, optimal support phase and optimal drive off repeatedly. The teachings take a simple yet complicated activity and allow you to look at the movement of the activity from a very different perspective with clear visuals and simplistic analogies that serve to help you analyze and break down your own running form so that you can rebuild it to the positive.
